| Comment | A great score by Tyler homaging Walker's compositions of the past while forging a new identity of its own; sadly, the Varèse edition here suffers from poor mastering (by Patricia Sullivan at Bernie Grundman, who has become the go-to engineer for loud masters these days, it seems). Also, the track listing is a bit out of order, and there are numerous instances of orchestral room noise all over the album. The score could use a proper dynamic remaster and re-release down the road, if one can dream. |
