| Comment | This is the original 2000 master. Although the DR score here appears to be lower than that for the remaster, looking at the waveforms shows they are two very different recordings; one of the major differences is that most of the high end frequencies are cut out on the remaster, possibly due to a low-pass filter. Another possible explanation for the DR difference is that there is more contrast in volume between distinct sections on the remaster, hence the DR difference may be superficial and not due to over-compression on the original master. All of this considered I'd say this original master is definitely worth getting. |
