Comment | Direct from Record Label site: http://www.nuclearblast.de/en/products/download/download/epica-universal-death-squad-single-flac.html The recording is upsampled from its 44KHZ source. It is not the best looking file as most of the sound is confined up to 18 KHZ; however, there is no hard cut off or straight line that would indicate a lossy source. However, all the upper frequencies are essentially missing. Either they were cut down, filtered out, or purposely left much quieter than they probably should have been especially given its DR rating. I used r8brain version 1.9 and down-sampled it back to 48/24 then to 44/16 all on Very High quality preset and then took its DR. A 16 Bit FLAC copy is on 7 digital but it will almost certainly look similar. |
